Packaging
For the Limited Edition Sargeant Calhoun box no expense was spared. The hinged box is printed on metallic paper and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. I had the opportunity to be fully in charge of this project from Concept to Completion. Responsibilities included sketching and presenting the packaging concept. Building out a dieline for the costing mechanical (CMA). FMA'ing and creating a 3D Render for presentations to approving the final product. I am very pleased with the outcome and keep this packaging in my personal collection.
The above packaging concept is one of my all time favorites. It uses a hinged set-up box with an outer sleeve. The hinged box is printed with metallic ink and includes a Certificate of Authenticity. The sleeve is printed on a glossy substrate with foil stamping on the logos and embossing on the LE Dusty copy.
I had a lot of fun designing this packaging for the Monster's U talking figures. To add to the storytelling I used a backpack concept that I carried from the outer shape of the box to the graphical elements used. The inside graphics emulate the dorm rooms from the film.
For the Big Hero 6 packaging I had the opportunity to develop various graphical concepts. The final concept used incorporated a more tech infused theme with a nod to the Japanese origins of the film. The tech theme was used on the packaging shape, framing devices and snipes. The font I used has characteristics that loosely tie back to kanji and the BH6 logo.
This Narnia blister packaging was not produced but is also one of my favorite concepts. The shape of the blister card is very theme appropriate to the film. The light yellow/green gradient used on the insert creates great contrast with the grays used for the stones. If you look closely I inserted an m shape on the bottom of the blister shape...
The Cars franchise has become an evergreen franchise that I have managed for several years now. The above packaging is a specialty packaging for the Artist Series line. It is a hinged set-up box that features exclusive product that has been designed by the creators of the film. I developed the box shape and graphical elements that have been carried over to all 5 sets.
