Illustrations

This illustration of Mike Tyson's caricature on a Time magazine cover was created as an example for my ARTC 140 class for Mt. SAC. I use it as reference for students when designing their second project, a caricature illustration of a recognizable celebrity or personality. The illustration they create is then used as cover art for a magazine of their choice.

It was a lot of fun creating the above illustrations for an internal Disney Consumer Products charitable project. The illustrations were displayed in the 1201 Campus hallway and were to be auctioned off. The character selection was carefully thought out after close deliberation with my young children...they're favorite characters at the time, of course.

This was a personal illustration created for my good friend's birthday in 2018. He "was" a big soccer fan and player with a tendency to be a little accident prone. Thankfully he has seen the light and hung up the cleats. I believe he still continues to be a fan of the game. If you recognize him ask him about his soccer crush...hehehe!!!

Here's a follow-up illustration created for my good friend's birthday in 2019. As previous stated he's a little accident prone. He decided to come out of "retirement" and as you can see, it didn't go to well. How you pull a bicep muscle playing soccer is still a mystery to me but he was able to "pull" it off...see what I did there lol.

This is also an illustration I created for my ARTC 14o class at Mt. SAC. I have my students use this as reference for their first project, a self portrait. The emphasis for this project is the use of vector drawing tools using solid colors to add shadowing and highlights. Some of you might recognize this guy.

For Lesson 2 of my ARTC 140 classs I created the above top hat illustration. The focus of this lesson is the use and modification of Illustrator's shape tools. The lesson also covers the use of gradients to add depth and color to the illustration.

The above illustrations are logos, snipes and art I created for various projects I've had the pleasure of being involved with. Some of the illustrations have been created entirely in Photoshop and others in Illustator. For a couple I've used both Photohop and Illustrator.
